Beijing: Lin Dan’s loss in the All England final last Sunday was disappointing, but not devastating as he remained upbeat while attending a 2018 Yonex product launch ceremony in Guangzhou, China on Wednesday.
Lin was calm and said his defeat in the All England final was part of the sport, and told reporters that the tennis legend, Roger Federer who could still win a major at 36-year-old had really inspired him to continue playing great badminton.

“I really look up to Federer who can still stand at the top of the podium at the age of 36. Me and my team will work together to extend my career and win more tournaments,” said Lin Dan.

When Lin Dan was asked if he would like his son to play badminton when he grows up, Lin Dan jokingly replied: “I don’t think my son should play badminton, because, I don’t think he can beat his dad. Perhaps, he should choose other sports.”

Lin Dan’s comment about his son, apparently, made the audience laugh.
