Taipei: Taiwanese women’s singles player, Tai Tzu Ying, who maintained a total of 147 weeks as World No. 1, has withdrawn from the 2020 Indonesia Masters that will be held in Jakarta from Jan 14 to Jan 19, 2020.
Despite her withdrawal from Indonesia Masters, Tai has confirmed her participation at the 2020 Malaysia Masters World Tour Super 500 event that will be held in Kuala Lumpur from Jan 7 to Jan 12 2020. She will play against Cheung Ngan Yi of Hong Kong in the first round.
It is completely understandable that Tai has decided to pull out from Indonesia Masters as her main focus in 2020 would be to get enough training and enough rest ahead of the Tokyo Olympics.
Her father also revealed that Tai and her coaching staff would only let her play in some important tournaments next year.
