Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia’s badminton legend, Lee Chong Wei has extended his warm wishes to all Muslims in Malaysia and across the globe for a happy, safe, and pleasant Hari Raya Aidilfitri or Eid El-Fiter celebration.
This year’s Hari Raya or Eid fell on Sunday, May 24, 2020. The festivities and celebrations also marked the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Lee posted the following message on his social media pages:
“Although I’m not a Muslim and not fasting, but I think Hari Raya is a long-awaited day by all citizens. When school just started term, the teacher will explain the holiday holidays and that year’s semester holiday. Kids memorize the Hari Raya date, Chinese new year, gawai, Diwali, deepavali and Christmas. Those dates that have chan brought parents to walk.
Still remember when I was small, during raya parents will bring to the open house of Muslim brothers and the malay neighbors house. The first house doesn’t care about whose house, it’s confirmed that there’s chicken rendang, floss, sambal squid and ketupat. Awesome. There are more batik cakes! Oh my God, I’m salivating thinking about it… then in the evening, follow the malay neighbors to play firecracker. I thought Chinese Firecracker was powerful, wow i jumped and saw his firecracker cannon. He says his cannon must be powerful because he wants to take care of the dignity of our village! It was fun. That’s the time, friends, now don’t play firecracker, it’s dangerous!
Time to go to sports school, during raya canteen will prepare a special raya meal. The group of people in raya raid the open house of the coach. That’s all the most beautiful memories. I remember when I was a dozen years, there was a difference with Indonesian players. Not sure if it’s really wrong, but just found it in the court, the two of us are so hot, really not satisfied. It’s time for Raya, teammates advise me to send him a raya message. I also message, ” Selamat Hari Raya. Like a badminton sport, we restart it empty, sir. Maaf Zahir Dan batin “. from that moment until now, we are still good friends.
Guys, I understand all feeling sad because this raya time may be affected due to coronavirus. I can only advise everyone to be patient. This year’s patience will be rewarded with the enjoyment of Hari Raya celebration for our children, as you enjoy the raya atmosphere in the past.
Me, mew choo and two boys would like to take this opportunity to collect ten fingers, ask for forgiveness and wish everyone a happy eid al-Fitr to all who celebrate. Like Badminton Sports, we restart ya…. empty.”
