Aarhus: The Indonesian badminton players took advantage of their second day in Aarhus, Denmark, by doing light exercises around the hotel where they were staying.

The purpose of the exercises was to maintain their physical fitness ahead of the Thomas & Uber Cup which will take place in Aarhus, Denmark, from October 9 to October 17.

“Today we did some practice at the Scandic Hotel. The men’s and women’s teams were taking turns practicing so that we could maintain players’ fitness and condition after traveling from Finland yesterday,” said Rionny Mainaky, the Head of Development and Achievement for Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI).

Indonesia’s World No. 5 men’s singles player, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting was seen jogging with his teammates at a park outside of the hotel.

“The gym facilities are very small in this hotel, it’s about 4×5 square meters in size. Therefore, we have to split up training for the Thomas Cup team consisting of 4 singles and 8 doubles players,” added Mainaky.

Meanwhile, PBSI’s men’s doubles head coach, Herry Iman Pierngadi, also had his players start some light training on the second day of arrival in Aarhus.

“Yes, we want to maintain our fitness so that our players are feeling fresh from traveling from Finland,” said Pierngadi.

Indonesia’s Uber team started their training at around 8 am local time on Wednesday after the Thomas Cup team completed its practice.

Tokyo Olympics women’s doubles gold medalists – Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu looked enthusiastic during the training.
