Beijing: China’s Zhao Yunlei is considered one of the most successful mixed doubles and women’s doubles players ever. She was also the only shuttler who won two gold medals in a single Olympics. She won both the mixed doubles (partnered with Zhang Nan) and women’s doubles (with Tian Qing) gold at the 2012 London Olympics.
Zhao retired from professional badminton after the 2016 Rio Olympics. She married China’s former World No. 2 men’s doubles player Hong Wei on June 1, 2018, and gave birth to their first child on September 13, 2021.

Hong Wei and Zhao Yunlei are one of the few famous couples from the Chinese badminton team. Other popular badminton couples include Lin Dan and Xie Xingfang, Liu Cheng and Bao Yixin, Chen Long and Wang Shixian, and Zhang Nan and Tian Qing.
