Kuala Lumpur: World number one Lee Chong Wei preferred not to involve in the decision of whether he should get a new coach. He would let Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) to take the proper action in this case before he started to chime in.
“I was asked few times about getting a new coach, but I am still awaiting response from BAM on this,” said Chong Wei.
Chong Wei is currently still training under Tey Seu Bock.
“I am not sure what BAM’s plans are, I know they are reviewing the men’s singles department, I’ll let them do their job first, and I will offer my suggestions later,” added Chong Wei.
Chong Wei who competed in 10 tournaments this year, winning four of them, and reaching the finals of eight tournaments, said he needed a break from badminton and has asked BAM to withdraw him from next week’s Denmark Superseries Premier in Odense.
“I want to maintain a slow and steady pace after a tiring season.”
“I need a rest, and I am preparing to skip the next several tournaments, let’s see how BAM is going to reply to my requests.”
