London: In the quest to capture his sixth men’s singles title, Olympic champion Lin Dan has been seeded fifth at the 2015 All England Open Badminton Championships that will be held from March 3 to March 8, 2015.
Li Xuerui became the No. 1 seed in women’s singles while Chen Long of China was ranked top seed in men’s singles. Jan O Jorgensen of Denmark, South Korean Son Wan-ho, Kidambi Srikanth was ranked second, third and fourth in the men’s singles category respectively.
Korean pair Lee Yong-dae/Yoo Yeon-seong was ranked No.1 in men’s doubles category. They were the only non-Chinese players to earn the number one ranking in All England.
Zhao Yunlei of China was ranked number one seed in women’s doubles and mixed doubles together with Tian Qing and Zhang Nang. Meanwhile, Indonesian favorites Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir have been seeded fourth as they bid to win their fourth successive mixed doubles title in Birmingham.
No Malaysian players were seeded in All England. Men’s doubles Tan Wee Kiong/Goh V Shem, and women’s doubles pair Vivian Hoo/Woon Khe Wei will start their first match directly in the first round; while Chong Wei Feng, Zulfadli Zulkiffli, and other Malaysian players will kick off their tourney run from the qualification rounds.
