The two pairs were in neck and neck fight at the first half of the third set. After 13-13, the Indonesian pair started playing like a formula one race car, sped away with full speed and never looked back. Della and Rosyita will take on Christinna Pedersen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl of Denmark on Sunday.

Meanwhile, England’s Chris and Gabby Adcock also saw their German Open bid come to an end at the semi-final stage on Saturday afternoon.

Ahead of next week’s YONEX All England Championships, the Adcocks were hoping to head to Birmingham in winning form, as well as reaching their first German Open final after reaching the last four stage in 2013.

But Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen, Denmark’s top seeds, proved too good for the British pair in Mulheim an der Ruhr as they advanced to the final with a 21-17 21-16 victory in 42 minutes.

In men’s singles, Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka, of Indonesia will play Jan O Jorgensen in the final on Sunday, while Carolina Marin of Spain will clash with top seed Sung Ji Hyun of South Korea in the women’s singles final.
