For Lee Chong Wei, that moment might have come on Sunday when he reached a significant milestone with capturing his 40th Superseries title at French Open.
After having somewhat disappointing stretch at the Jakarta World Championships, Japan Open, Korea Open and Denmark Open, Lee has slowly climbed his way back and firmly put himself right back in the place amongst men’s badminton elite.
The victory on Sunday was much more than just another men’s singles title in his illustrious career, most importantly, he got his confidence back!
“Winning the French Open title definitely gives me confidence and I look forward to play well at China Open and Hong Kong Open,” Lee told reporters on Sunday after winning the French Open title for the third time.
The French Open victory could see Lee soaring to top 10 in the newest BWF rankings that will be released this coming Thursday.
