Balikpapan: Friday was a great day for Malaysian shuttlers at the Indonesia Masters as all of them advanced to the semi-finals.

16-year-old women’s singles shuttler needed 39 minutes to brush aside Gao Fangjie of China in the women’s singles quarter-finals, winning 21-16, 21-18. Goh who is aiming for her first ever GP title, will face No. 2 seed Nitchaon Jindapol of Thailand for a final berth.Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing are 2 wins away from winning their second title of 2016.

In mixed doubles, Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing had it easy against Indonesia’s Lukhi Apri Nugroho-Ririn Amelia, beating the Indonesians 21-8, 21-14 in 28 minutes. The World No. 24 Tan/Lai who won the Vietnam Open GP in July, will play No. 3 seeds Edi Subaktiar-Richi Puspita Dili of Indonesia on Saturday for a place in the mixed doubles final.

Playing only in their second international tournament as a men’s doubles pair, the momentum was firmly in Chooi Kah Ming/Low Juan Shen’s court as they fought back from a set down to pull off an upset 15-21, 21-15 , 21-18 victory over No. 4 seeds Hardianto Hardianto-Kenas Adi Haryanto of Indonesia on Friday.

Chooi/Low are set to battle Han Chengkai-Zhou Haodong of China in the final four on Saturday.
