
Paris, France — Malaysia’s top men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik kept their nation’s hopes alive at the 2025 French Open, advancing to the semi-finals after a thrilling three-game battle against Indonesia’s Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani on Friday.
The second seeds fought hard for 21–19, 16–21, 21–19 victory in a match filled with long rallies and defensive brilliance that lasted just over an hour at the Glaz Arena.

Seventh seeds Man Wei Chong/Tee Kai Wun fell 21–18, 14–21, 10–21 to world No. 1 Koreans Kim Won Ho/Seo Seung Jae, while third seeds Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin narrowly lost a thriller to Denmark’s Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen 21–14, 17–21, 23–25.

Men’s Singles: Antonsen Stuns Axelsen
Denmark’s Anders Antonsen delivered a major upset by knocking out two-time Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen 21–15, 17–21, 21–12, setting up a semi-final meeting with China’s Li Shi Feng.
Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn will face home favorite Christo Popov of France in the other men’s singles semi-final.
Women’s Singles:
The women’s singles semi-finals promise blockbuster matchups — world No. 1 An Se Young of Korea will meet China’s Chen Yu Fei, while Han Yue will face teammate Wang Zhi Yi in an all-Chinese bottom half.
Women’s Doubles:
China’s world No. 1 pair Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan defeated Malaysia’s Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan 21–16, 21–16 to advance. They will play compatriots Li Yi Jing/Luo Xu Min in the semi-finals.
The top half will feature an all-Japanese showdown between Yuki Fukushima/Mayu Matsumoto and Arisa Igarashi/Chiharu Shida.
Mixed Doubles:
The semi-final lineup will see Denmark’s Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Bøje face Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Supissara Paewsampran, while Hong Kong’s Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet will take on China’s Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping.
