Shenzhen: The 2024 King Cup International Badminton Open has officially been launched by China’s badminton icon, Lin Dan on Friday. Eight world’s best men’s singles players will vie for the title with prize money to be worth 1.1 million RMB or USD $151,898.
Lin Dan, the host of the competition, wanted to make this 2024 King Cup International Badminton Open a true international badminton tournament only for men’s singles. Its main purposes are to promote the men’s singles discipline and at the same time offer the top players with sufficient income that is worth their talents.
Record-Breaking Prize Money:
The champion of this event would take home prize money of 1.1 million RMB (USD $151,898). This level of prize money has significantly surpassed the highest prizes offered in BWF World Tour events.

- 3rd Place: 300,000 RMB (USD 41,426.73)
- Quarterfinalists: 100,000 RMB each (USD $13,808.91)
