Tokyo 2021 releases badminton competition schedule for the Olympic Games
Tokyo: The revised badminton schedule for the 2021 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo was released last Friday by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
2020 Tokyo Games were postponed for the first time in their history. The Opening Ceremony of the Olympics will now be held on 23 July 2021.
The Badminton competition will run from July 24th to August 2nd, 2021 at the Musashino Forest Sport Plaza. Group stage competition for all events will start from July 24th to July 27th, with women’s singles playing their last group stage matches on July 28, 2021, while the men’s singles playing their last group stage matches on July 28.
Mixed doubles final will be held on July 30th, followed by men’s doubles gold medal match on July 31, 2021. Top women’s singles players will be fighting for the gold medal on August 1, while we will witness the new women’s doubles and the new men’s singles Olympic champions to be born on August 2nd, 2021.
