Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia’s World No. 12 mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Jemie Lai who were teamed up on October 2016, due to Goh’s lack of performance in the men’s singles department and Lai had been without a partner since Wong Fai Xin quit in July of 2016, have quickly rise to prominence in just two years of their partnership.

One of their signature performance this year was when they won the 2018 Singapore Open mixed doubles title by beating the 2016 Olympic gold medalist Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir in the final with straight-sets.

The pair has talked with Badminton World Federation (BWF) recently about the ups and downs in their journey to become the top mixed doubles pair in the world, watch video below to learn more about how they began their transformation from an unknown pair to one of the world’s top mixed doubles duo.

Below is another video of Goh Soon Huat/Shevon Jemie Lai that was recorded by BWF in November of 2017.
