Aarhus: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has released the draw result for the 2020 Thomas Cup quarter-finals right after the Thomas Cup group stage ended on Thursday.

The 2020 Thomas Cup quarter-finals will be played on Friday, and Malaysia was drawn to face tough opponents – Indonesia in the last eight of the 2020 Thomas Cup finals.

Having beaten by Malaysia at the Sudirman Cup quarter-finals two weeks ago, the Indonesian team would probably be full of desire to take revenge on Friday.

Two interesting match-ups for the tie between Malaysia and Indonesia would be the first men’s singles between Lee Zii Jia and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and the first men’s doubles between Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik and Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo.

Lee Zii Jia defeated Anthony Sinisuka Ginting in the Sudirman Cup quarter-finals, while Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik spoiled Indonesia’s World No. 1 men’s pair’s dream of winning the Tokyo Olympic gold medal by beating Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo in the Tokyo Olympics quarter-finals.

Here’s the draw for the 2020 Thomas Cup quarter-finals:
