Soon Huat, Iskandar, Hui Lin included in Asian Games

Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysian men’s and women’s teams both welcome few new faces to their rosters for the 2014 Incheon Asian Games.

World number 109 Goh Soon Huat and world number 94 Iskandar Zainuddin will be playing alongside world number 1 Lee Chong Wei and world number 18 Chong Wei Feng as members of the men’s team in Incheon.Good luck to Goh Soon Huat (top left),Iskandar Zainuddin (top right), Ng Hui Lin (bottom right)!

Meanwhile, Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong, Hoon Thien How/Tan Boon Heong, Lim Khim Wah/Chan Peng Soon will be playing in the doubles department of the men’s team.

Ng Soon Huat who replaced Daren Liew as the third singles of Malaysia seems to be getting geared up to play in the Asian Games.

“I learned a lot from the Thomas Cup. Depends on the strategy, Iskandar and I will be ready for the role of third singles,” said Soon Huat.

In women’s doubles, Ng Hui Lin who re-joined BAM after completed her studies in England was added to the women’s team at Asian Games in Incheon. She will have the opportunity to get some hands on experience from the reigning Commonwealth Games gold medallists Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei, Amelia Anscelly-Soong Fie Cho and Lim Yin Loo.

At the 2010 Asian Games, Malaysia’s men’s team lost to Thailand 2-3 in the quarterfinals and the women’s team lost to Hong Kong 1-3 in the 1st round.
