Beijing: Malaysian media broke the news last week that badminton super star Lin Dan of China will be joining the Malaysian badminton professional league called Malaysia Purple League, which will be held from October 15 2014 until February 2015. According to the news, Lin Dan will represent the Puchong Badminton Club while Lee Chong Wei will play for the Petaling Badminton Club. Other international players who will be playing in the Purple League are South Korea’s Lee Hyun-il, and PV Sindu from India.Lin Dan will not play in Malaysia Purple League

However, when asked about this two days ago, Lin Dan stressed that it’s impossible for him to join the Malaysian professional badminton league.

“I am totally unaware about this, I have never received formal invitation from them. Furthermore, I already have many arrangements in the second half of this year, it is impossible for me to participate in their league,” clarified Lin Dan.

Nevertheless, he did acknowledge that the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) was trying to get in touch with him, but he already fully committed to play in several upcoming Superseries before end of 2014, thus, is impossible for him to involve in the Purple League.

“I was puzzled by their statement which said I already confirmed to join a particular badminton club in Malaysia,” Lin Dan clearly unpleased with the rumor.
