Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian men’s singles coach – Tey Seu Bock urged Goh Soon Huat and Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin to help the Malaysia team advance past the group stages in the Incheon Asian Games.
“Either Soon Huat or Iskandar will play the third singles at the team event, both of them are playing around the same level, and we need any of them to be ready to step in and play with confidence,” said Seu Bock.
“As for Chong Wei, he has just recovered from his gum problem, but he and Wei Feng are ready for the Asian Games,” added Seu Bock.
Meanwhile, men’s doubles players for the Malaysian Asian Games squad consist of Goh V Shem, Tan Wee Kiong, Tan Boon Heong, Hoon Thien How, Lim Khim Wah and Chan Peng Soon.
The Malaysian team is scheduled to depart for Incheon on Wednesday.
