Paris: The Chinese badminton team officially arrived in Paris on Saturday local time, beginning their final preparations for the 2024 Olympics.
The Chinese shuttlers received a warm welcome from local fans at Charles de Gaulle Airport near Paris.

In a prior interview, the President of the Chinese Badminton Association – Zhang Jun emphasized the team’s goal for the Olympics: “to secure two golds, aim for three, and strive for four.”
For this Olympics, the Chinese badminton team has sent 16 athletes. In addition, there is a comprehensive support team of 11 members, including coaches, medical staff, physiotherapists, and other support staff.
Before arriving in Paris, the Chinese badminton team underwent three months of intensive training in China. In the next few days, all Chinese shuttlers will continue to train and follow the plan formulated by their coaches.
China has secured the maximum number of 10 entries across five events for the Paris Olympics. Furthermore, they have achieved the top seed positions in four of the events.
Zhang Jun mentioned that the team will now enter a training camp to adjust to the time difference, adapt to the climate in Paris, and prepare the athletes’ conditions before familiarizing themselves with the competition venue.
The badminton events at the Paris Olympics will take place from July 27 to August 5 at Porte de la Chapelle Arena.
