Sydney, Australia — Malaysia will be represented in both the men’s doubles and mixed doubles semi-finals of the 2025 Australian Open after two national pairs delivered impressive quarter-final performances on Friday.
Malaysia’s independent men’s doubles duo Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin Rumsani and the reigning mixed doubles world champions Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei will both compete on Saturday for a place in the finals.
Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin Survive Dramatic Quarter-Final Thriller
The second-seeded Goh/Izzuddin pair showed nerves of steel, overcoming a fierce challenge from the Malaysia–Korea combination Goh V Shem/Choi Sol Gyu in a rollercoaster match that ended 21-13, 20-22, 22-20.

Their semi-final opponents will be Indonesia’s rising pair Raymond Indra/Nikolaus Joaquin, who upset Malaysia’s Man Wei Chong/Tee Kai Wun in a three-game battle (21-15, 19-21, 21-15).
If Indra/Joaquin win again, Indonesia will secure both finals slots in men’s doubles, as the other semi-final is an all-Indonesian showdown between:

Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei Target Third Final of the Season
Top seeds Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei cruised into the mixed doubles semi-final after a strong showing earlier in the tournament, and now prepare to face Thailand’s world No. 65 pair Pakkapon Teeraratsakul/Sapsiree Taerattanachai.
This will be their first meeting.
