Kuala Lumpur: Newly appointed Malaysia men’s doubles head coach, Herry Iman Pierngadi, has officially arrived in Kuala Lumpur and is eager to begin his tenure.

The experienced Indonesian coach, nicknamed Herry IP, landed last night with his wife and children and will officially start his duties this Saturday.

Having spent nearly 30 years coaching Indonesia’s top doubles players, this marks his first coaching assignment outside of his home country. Herry expressed his excitement about taking on a fresh challenge in Malaysia.

“I had the opportunity to meet the Malaysian doubles players last week when they competed in the Indonesia Masters in Jakarta,” Herry shared upon his arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

“I invited them for a dinner with my family so we could get to know each other better. The Malaysian players are not strangers to me, as I have frequently encountered them in tournaments. Now, I will be working closely with them to elevate their performance and achieve success.”

The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) recently confirmed Herry IP’s appointment as the new men’s doubles head coach, replacing Tan Bin Shen, who has moved to Hong Kong.

Herry will be assisted by fellow Indonesian coach Muhammad Miftakh, as they work together to strengthen Malaysia’s doubles squad.
