Paris: Malaysia’s top badminton player, Lee Zii Jia, and his coach, Wong Tat Meng, have checked into the Paris Olympic Village for the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
After departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport Sunday night, Lee and his team arrived safely at Paris International Airport and checked into the Olympic Village located in North Paris.
Lee’s team consists of six members, but only Lee and Wong Tat Meng are allowed to stay in the Olympic Village. The remaining four team members, including his manager and sister, Lee Zii Yu, fitness coach, Lim Joe Heang, physiotherapist, Rayvadee Rattanakthada, and sparring partner, Lee Shun Yang, will stay in a nearby hotel.
After arriving at the Olympic Village, Lee ran into Spanish basketball legend Pau Gasol, and he shared his excitement on social media by posting a photo of him and Gasol.
Lee Zii Jia has loved basketball since he was a child and idolized the late Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant.
